Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz who was born within Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter in honor of her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father, while Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father was from the Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. Ryder has two half-siblings younger than her, Jubal and Sunyata. In the year Ryder was only seven her family moved to Mendocino County California. They didn't have electricity. Ryder would read extensively due to the absence of television. Ryder was enrolled in acting classes when Ryder was 12, at the American Conservatory Theatre. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas she was only fifteen years old. Ryder had to deal with bullying throughout her teenage years. She hoped that the acting profession would alter the way she dealt with bullying. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The actress continued to chase her dreams. She got her break through Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder continued to play successful parts in a variety of films. In 1993 Ryder was twice nominated to win Academy Awards. One of the nominations was for her part in The Age of Innocence.
