Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author as well as a TV host and owner of the online, independent newspaper The Huffington Post. Born in Greece she came to England at the age of 16 after which she graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to hold this title. The years that followed after her college graduation, she was an influential conservative journalist who was syndicated. A few more years later, she started The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the politics. The fame of Arianna brought in a variety of famous contributors to post their perspectives on politics, news and culture. Arianna became famous after she decided to be an independent candidate for the California Recall Election, to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that she also led the Detroit Project for efficient vehicles that use less fuel. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as The most influential women in media gaining 12th place on the list and in the same year the Guardian placed her in their Top 100 Media list. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of that media unit, which comprised of many at the time-operating AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos the journalist and a management consultant. She was very close with her father, but it was her connection with her mother which shaped her. As early as her childhood, she displayed the skills of leadership for which she is well-known. The British native moved to England when she was 16 to continue her education as well as enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female and only president from outside the country. In 1972 she graduated with an advanced degree in Economics. In the years following when she graduated, she became a television presenter and columnist. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. Her first novel was written. books with his guidance in editing.
